For open-pored oiled leather, we recommend our premium leather oil:

Open-pored leathers look especially natural, are more supple than so-called finished (coated) leathers, whose pores are sealed with a colour coating, and age beautifully with good care. They are also genuine, breathable, temperature-regulating “functional textiles” of nature. These properties make open-pored leather so well suited to boots, clothing or, indeed, saddles: if you sweat under the leather, the material conducts moisture outward and keeps skin or coat drier and better tempered than finished leather.
 
Precisely because of these properties, open-pored leather materials also need quite a lot of care; they easily pick up stains, can dry out and fade. It is also important not to use the wrong care product: if an unsuitable care product clogs the pores, you may have made the leather superficially less prone to stains and drying out, but it will also have lost its breathability.

For the care of open-pored leather, we can offer you a very special product: our exclusive Leather Oil Iberocare is an original recipe from the tannery that supplies the leather for our saddles. All open-pored leathers are treated there with exactly this oil before they leave the tannery for further processing.
 
This long-proven, unique oil contains neither wax nor perfume or other additives. It penetrates deep into the leather and gives it everything open-pored leather needs, without clogging the pores. The result: leather cared for “like new” – supple, with refreshed colours and regenerated functionality.
