After my Friesian was assessed first, I was initially allowed to try sitting on several saddles on a saddle horse, to get a feel for what suits ME. The idea was that I would tune in to my own feeling and pick a few models without being influenced.
When 3 were left in the end, we went on to try them on the horse. The first saddle we put on was the Doma Classica, which is also the one we ended up choosing.
What can I say, I was immediately so incredibly thrilled, because I could influence my horse just with my breathing.
The saddle was fitted to my Friesian, and I had the option to choose the colours of the leather, the stitching and a decorative seam. You can be endlessly creative that way!
About the saddle:
The Doma Classica frames me pleasantly with its rear panel, and the knee blocks support my leg position. The seat is extra softly padded and lets me give really fine seat aids.
It allows the “tricky,” short Friesian back to have the shoulder freedom it needs to be able to move absolutely freely.
We did have to wait 6 months for the saddle, but that made the anticipation all the greater, and it was absolutely worth it.
I can definitely recommend Iberosattel®. No grumpy saddler who is overwhelmed by the Friesian, but skilled staff who competently support us in finding the right saddle for horse AND rider, without pushing their own agenda.
