Anja-Susann K. with Dressage Andaluz on young horse Aristea: "I love this saddle so much..."
Dear Iberosattel® team,
thank you so much for this wonderful saddle! In the summer of last year, I found my heart horse Aristea at the private stud Möningerberg. At the time, Aristea was barely 3 years old. I saw her, fell in love instantly, and signed the sales contract right away.
While toasting to the purchase, we got to talking about saddles, and I got to hear the story of how Iberosattel® came to be, practically first-hand.
For my previous horse, due to his body shape, I had never found a dressage saddle that suited us both in his whole life, and so I was permanently riding in a jumping saddle. Whenever I rode other horses in a dressage saddle, I never got used to it because of the unfamiliar position.
Since we first had to find a stable for Aristea and organise transport to northern Germany, we arranged to come back the following month to also have a look at the saddles. No sooner said than done – we had a wonderful appointment with Miriam and Sofie Thoma.
First, we clarified what mattered to me:
That still left about 20 saddles, which I tested on a saddle horse.
Little by little, more and more saddles were eliminated (was the one before better, or this one?). In the end, 4 models remained, which I was gratefully allowed to test ride on Miriam’s stallion Islenio, since my own horse hadn’t been broken in yet.
I chose the Dressage Andaluz.
At the beginning of the year, the beautiful piece was delivered, just in time for my first riding attempts on the young horse. Simone Garnreiter did a fantastic job with the fitting, which wasn’t easy at all given how little riding experience my Aristea still had. Until then, she had only known me mounting and being led.
What can I say, for 3 weeks now I have been riding independently on this wonderful saddle, which is more comfortable than any other has ever been. It also gives me the support I need when the horse does get startled and makes an abrupt, unplanned change of direction.
I love this saddle so much. Under the saddle, Aristea moves forward freely and boldly, which I never would have expected from a young horse. Then again, she really is a true gem and my absolute heart horse.
Thank you to everyone at Möningerberg for Aristea and this wonderful saddle!
Warm regards from Hamburg,
Anja-Susann K.

First, we clarified what mattered to me:
- Sitting close to the horse
- Not feeling restricted
- No overly flashy shape
