Are There Tournaments for Baroque Riders Too?
Baroque riding is not an Olympic discipline, and there really is no national, European or even international tournament circuit as there is in dressage or show jumping. In fact, modern baroque riding actually developed as a kind of antithesis to the competitive spirit of modern dressage. Harmony is placed above performance, individual development above standards.
Even without baroque tournaments, devotees of baroque equestrian art get their money's worth at tournaments in other disciplines – as well as at events where classical-baroque riding is celebrated.

Tournament in Verden: State Championship for Classical-Baroque Equestrian Art

The desire to compete with others is simply part of any sport – and even baroque riding isn't entirely without friendly competition.
The competitive spirit is especially strong in the state association of Lower Saxony: every year, as part of the Verdiana horse fair in Verden, Lower Saxony, the State Championship for classical-baroque riding takes place.
Since 2016, the event has also included the German Championship.

Participating in Dressage and Working Equitation Tournaments
Of course, with a classically-baroque trained horse, you can also take part in "normal" dressage tournaments – though in that case with a saddle approved by the FN (German Equestrian Federation) – as well as in Working Equitation tournaments.
Displays of Baroque Equestrian Art

You can experience classical-baroque riding at its finest during the public training sessions and displays of the great riding schools.
For example, regularly at the Princely Riding School Bückeburg or at the Spanish Riding School Vienna.

Feuerwerk der Pferde: Baroque Horse Event in Hanover
As part of the International Fireworks Competition in the Herrenhausen Gardens in Hanover, the "Feuerwerk der Pferde" ("Fireworks of the Horses") also takes place every summer. This grand display is organised by the Hanover Institute for Classical Riding and is dedicated above all to baroque riding. Set against the backdrop of the magnificent baroque gardens, this sophisticated riding show offers a very special visual feast.
Competition is traditionally not really compatible with the baroque riding style. — Instead: attending displays put on by the great riding schools.
What Our Customers Say About Their Baroque Saddle from Iberosattel®
Sandra on the Vaquero Breitschaft Saddle
"I bought my Vaquero Breitschaft many years ago. I don't remember exactly, but it's been at least 10 to 12 years. I've always loved riding in this saddle, it's simply so comfortable, robust, still beautiful and really doesn't need much care! Last year, the horse I bought the saddle for passed away. My current horse is 4 years young, and I just asked whether it would be possible to adjust my old saddle to fit my young horse. Otherwise I would have bought a new Vaquero Breitschaft for him. And I'm simply thrilled! It was NO PROBLEM to adjust the saddle. Sure, the gullet had to be rebuilt, the tree widened and the padding adjusted, but it was possible. And at a truly fair price!"
Sonja S. with the Ibero Barock Saddle
"The saddle, perfectly fitted to my small mare, arrived after a very short time, and we've both been absolutely delighted with our choice ever since! I sit in it as if I'd grown into it, and my little mare can move freely. Whether during training work or on long rides out, I'm delighted with this wonderful saddle every single time."
Nicole T. with the Ibero Amazona Comfort Saddle
"During dressage work, in the arena and even after a three-hour ride out, it's super comfortable and simply wonderful to sit in. The colour is also just great, and we turn heads everywhere. I'm overjoyed to have made this decision. I'd also like to thank you again for the friendly and competent advice."
